Hello!

In couple of months, I will be completing two great years in
The Max Foundation.I must say that “what a beautiful and blessed journey
I had so far”.

I am Ashika, the younger daughter
of my parents, My dad is a doctor by profession and mom is a home maker. I completed
my diploma in Computer science and engineering in 2009, followed by a web
designing and animation course. Later, planned to take a job in this field. In the
year 2010 December got married to Nipun a software engineer with IBM and later
moved to Bangalore.

A few months later once I got
settled in my new role, I started thinking seriously about my career. That’s
the time I came across the opening in MAX, which I came to know from one of my
family friend. I applied for this job with some basic understanding of my new
role. “Selection process will be very strict by Amma”, “Many rounds of
interview” that was exactly running in my mind. But it was a different tale all
together. It was just a casual talk; I loved talking to Amma and would love to do
it many more times. My life’s first interview, I never thought it would be so
nice. Next day my offer letter was rolled out and also got introduced to
Beenaji my mentor. Here I started my life’s next milestone, just by having a
conversation with Beenaji, getting connected to my new profile I started liking
my job and now I wanted to start exploring it.
After Joining MAX, in couple of
months I had visited MI Mumbai office.  I
met all my Mumbai office colleagues and had a nice talk – sharing their daily
work routine.

Last year I met the local FOM group
and we all planned for a Stomp out cancer campaign at Kidwai. It was a great
day meeting Amma, FOM group and children at the pediatric ward.
This year April I attended the
leadership summit at Pune. It was a wonderful event and got an opportunity to
meet Pat. It was nice spending time with Pat and the Max India team in Mumbai
office. I also had an opportunity to talk to a few doctors and patients from
different states. I will always cherish these moments.

As a daily routine I speak to
patients, even though I do not meet them personally I try to counsel them and
guide them over phone. I have also started talking to physicians over phone
regarding patient medical details and any other information if required. I am
also planning to visit the hospitals and meet the physicians.
I have always wanted to give
something back to society, wanted to be a part of people who care for others
and looked like my dream was coming true. Thanks Amma for giving me this
opportunity.
It was a beautiful opportunity to join MAX and is a honor
being part of this family.
