Cancer and the way forward, and a presentation by one of the GIPAP Physician,
Dr. R A Bolarinwa on ‘Compliance with CML treatment to enhance survival’.

According to
one of the Survivor‘In
I started getting lean and if I put on my cloth it will get loose on my
body. I visited many hospitals but could not get solution until I was admitted
in Lagos University Teaching Hospital . My PCV was 6% then  I was informed that I had CML. I
said what? I got to Ife in 2004 and since then I have been using Glivec
religiously. Initially it was difficult for me as I was having shrink leg and
losing my hair, I had to cut my hair. I really thank God, Professor Durosinmi
and his team and Max Foundation for this gesture. If you are not taking your
drug as you are directed you are just causing problem for yourself.’
‘ If I can take Glivec for more than twelve
years and I am still taking it now, you that are starting it today, I want you
to continue. God will continue to take care of all of us.’
